Chocolate Biscoff Oats: A Sweet, Protein-Packed Breakfast Treat!

If you’re a fan of Biscoff and chocolate flavors, you are in for an absolute treat! These Chocolate Biscoff Oats combine the irresistible crunch of Biscoff cookies with the creamy goodness of chocolate and protein-packed ingredients. What makes it even more special is the addition of a sneaky ingredient grated courgette, which adds moisture and a bit of extra nutrition without compromising on flavor! Whether you’re looking for a filling breakfast, an afternoon snack, or something indulgent after a workout, these oats have got you covered.

Method

Cook the Oats

Begin by placing the oats into a microwave-safe bowl. Pour enough water over the oats to cover them completely. Give them a gentle stir to ensure the water is evenly distributed. Pop the bowl into the microwave and cook for 1 minute and 30 seconds. This will get the oats nice and soft. Once done, take them out and give them another quick stir.

Add the Veggies and Protein Paste

Now it’s time to mix in the goodness! Stir the grated courgette into the oats. This hidden veggie not only adds moisture but also sneaks in some extra nutrients. Next, combine your chocolate protein powder with 50ml of almond milk to form a thick paste. Add this protein paste to the oats and mix everything together well. If the mixture looks a little thick, feel free to add a splash more water or almond milk to achieve your desired consistency. Put the bowl back into the microwave and cook for another 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Add the Toppings

Now for the best part toppings! After your oats are cooked and perfectly creamy, add the chopped strawberries for some fresh, juicy sweetness. Then, drizzle the white chocolate protein spread and biscuit spread over the top. Sprinkle the crumbled biscuit on top for that final crunch. Stir everything together or keep it layered for a more indulgent experience.

Enjoy

Finally, take a step back and enjoy the fruits of your labor! Whether you prefer to stir it all together or savor the layers of flavor, your Chocolate Biscoff Oats are now ready to eat. Get comfy and enjoy every delicious bite!

Ingredients

  • 65g oats

  • 20g smooth chocolate impact whey protein (from @myproteinuk)

  • 50ml almond milk (for protein paste)

  • 30g grated courgette

  • 6 chopped strawberries

  • 1 tbsp white chocolate protein spread

  • 1 tbsp biscuit spread (Grandessa smooth biscuit spread from @aldiuk)

  • 1/3 crumbled biscuit (Aldi version)

Directions

  • Cook the oats. Start by adding the oats to a microwave-safe bowl. Pour water over the oats, just enough to cover them. Stir and microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
  • Add the veggies and protein paste. Stir in the grated courgette and your protein paste (the protein powder mixed with almond milk). Add a little more water if needed and microwave for another 1 minute and 30 seconds.
  • Toppings time! Once the oats are cooked and creamy, it’s time for the fun part add the chopped strawberries, white chocolate protein spread, biscuit spread, and crumbled biscuit on top. Stir it all together or leave it as is for a more indulgent bite!
  • Enjoy. Sit back, relax, and dig into this sweet, creamy, and protein-packed bowl of heaven!

Notes

  • Water to oats ratio: Make sure you’re covering the oats with water but not drowning them. Too little water will leave them too dry; too much, and they might be too runny.
  • Microwave time. Microwave ovens vary in power, so keep an eye on your oats to ensure they don’t overflow or burn. If needed, adjust cooking time by 30-second increments.
  • Grated courgette. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can use a finer grater for the courgette or leave it out if you’re not a fan of the veggie twist!

Serving Suggestions

This dish is perfect as a hearty breakfast or post-workout snack. You can add extra protein by topping it with more protein spread or a scoop of protein powder if you want to kick things up a notch. For a touch of freshness, try adding a few extra strawberries or other fresh berries.

Fun Fact

Did you know that Biscoff cookies, also known as speculoos, are made with a blend of cinnamon and brown sugar, giving them that signature caramelized flavor? Now imagine that flavor combined with rich white chocolate and protein goodness… it’s a match made in food heaven!

Conclusion

These Chocolate Biscoff Oats are the perfect combination of deliciously creamy, slightly crunchy, and incredibly filling. Not only do they taste amazing, but they also provide a good balance of carbs and protein to start your day off right or refuel after a workout. So, whether you’re an oat lover or a first-time tryer, this recipe will definitely make your taste buds dance! Enjoy!
